Tanzania’s leading technology Communication Company, Vodacom Plc has won the prestigious Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange Member Award (DMA).
The fourth awarding ceremony with a theme of ‘Environmental, Social and Governance for Sustainability’ was held in Dar es Salaam earlier this week. The guest of honour at the event was the Deputy Minister for Finance and Planning, Dr. Ashatu Kijaji.
The main objective of this award is to promote excellence in business in areas of environmental protection, good corporate governance, enhance social corporate responsibility, and ensure Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange (DSE) continuing membership obligations.
Speaking during the event, Vodacom Tanzania Plc head of Investor Relations and Special Projects, Robin Kimambo, said that, the award was a sign of appreciation to the firm which is driving the technology and communication industry in Tanzania with social impactful innovations.
“A very important thing is to promise Tanzanians that, we will keep on being innovative so that we continue to fufill needs of our more than 14 milion customers across the country,” he insisted.
The award brought together listed companies, stock brokers/dealers, custodian banks, nominated advisors as well as digital and print media.
Vodacom Tanzania Plc listed on the Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange on 15 August 2017.
