that are available in Songwe region especially the agricultural sector for the

During the launch
of the investment workshop held in Songwe region, Mbozi district yesterday,
Kairuki said that the region has many business opportunities which have been
planned by the regional leaders so as to place the region among the top growing
investment destinations in Tanzania.

On the other hand,
NMB Bank’s Chief Retail Banking Manager, Filbert Mponzi said that the bank
which is the main sponsor of the workshop, has already provided nearly Tsh.22
billion to the region in support of agricultural sector especially coffee,
maize and other products.

“This year, NMB Bank has already started to open special bank accounts for
farmers something which will be a plus for the government through the agricultural
ministry to pay those farmers through their accounts after selling their
agricultural products.”

According to
Mponzi, NMB Bank has started to provide loans with low interest rates to
entrepreneurs for the aim of improving their business.
