\nfamily in Kwale, is demanding justice following the death of Khamisi Juma bega,
\na bodaboda operator, whom they claim was beaten to death by police in Kenya.<\/o:p><\/span><\/div>\n

\nAccording to the Citizen
\ndigital in Kenya, 49-year-old Khamisi was beaten by police officers who were
\nenforcing the nationwide curfew.<\/o:p><\/span><\/div>\n

\n<\/span>On Friday, the first day of the curfew, Khamis is said to
\nhave received a call from one of his customers who was expectant.<\/o:p><\/span><\/div>\n

\nShe asked him to take her to
\nthe hospital but little did he know that this would land him in trouble.<\/o:p><\/span><\/div>\n

\nOn his way back from the
\nhospital, he is said to have met officers on patrol at Ujamaa stage on the
\nMombasa-Lungalunga highway.<\/o:p><\/span><\/div>\n

\nHe
\ncould not get medical attention that night and was only taken to hospital the
\nnext day owing to the curfew<\/span><\/div>\n

\nPolice in Matuga have however
\ndenied the claims even as Matuga sub-county police commander Francis Mguli said
\nthey would investigate.<\/o:p><\/span><\/div>\n

\nThe body has since been taken
\nto Coast General mortuary for postmortem.<\/o:p><\/span><\/div>\n

\nResidents are calling on the
\nInspector-General of Police to caution his officers against using excessive
\nforce.<\/o:p><\/span><\/div>\n
